sooooooo.. I spent the weekend in Macau. and although Jon forgot why I spent my weekend there, for all of you who don't know.. it was for swim. I did the 50 breast and 50 fly, Long course unfortunately. Placed 2nd and 4th respectively. The butterfly was disgusting...I have a lot to work on.

We took a bunch of pictures and I have 2 videos, they'll get posted later! We, the team, had a great time. Good food and new food (LOL):

Fei On and Wilson had great moments too after the meet. They're hilarious. o! and Cirque de Soleil is awesome. sorry this post is retarded, I'm sad right now. x[p.

Anyways, good job to everyone this past weekend!

I just finished taking my marketing exam approximately 10 minutes ago. Although I had known that the course was not well designed and implemented, that fact finally sunk into me halfway through the exam....

1.The TA couldn't answer my questions because she didn't understand me. (and the Professor didn't show up for the exam)
2. All the questions contained horrible grammar
3. Some answers had answers within answers. Confusing isn't it?

For a school that prides itself on its top notch education, it sure does have trouble finding English speakers or Professors who, although technically aren't allowed to use Chinese to teach, do in fact use Chinese. Is that unfair?

My Intro to marketing class has become a Professor Zhao's Philosophy of Marketing. Sometimes, I'm not even sure what we're learning. We spent an entire class on the existence and meaning of life...and another on Soap. More than that, during discussions, he has a set list of questions in his head he wants students to answer. And if you can't figure those questions out, you don't get participation points. Hurray....

How to go about Studying Abroad.

Muhahaha! I'm now blogging at Collegexperience.net. It's a website of college advice and what not x).

So David and I were having a conversation in relation to my post on my other blog and it went something like this:

David:
i think back here in europe about 80% of relationships failed because of exchange

Me: that sucks

David:
i guess its less in usa?

Me: ya

David:
jaja, you guys tend to stick together too much, marry too young and get too many children too young. communism is defeated, there is no need to supply children to the fatherland any more

Me: hahaha, bastards everywhere?

David: is that a question?

Me: yes?

u bastards everywhere? meaning? are there bastards everywhere in europe? i guess not more than in usa, since we dont produce so much teenage mothers who are then abandoned by the irresponsable guys who fathered their children

Me: true. so for you then, just sex no kids?

did you know that 80% of criminals in usa prisons (the young ones) grew up without fathers?

sex is an independent variable. u should always have sex no matter whats the situation. maybe somebody needs to tell americans that sex without some kind of contraception may lead to pregnancy. but i guess that against moral. no sex before marriage. like bristol palin has demonstrated. another abandoned teenage mother.

but i can understand her fiancé. staying with her during the campaigns must have been hard enough

So, I made a long post about my thoughts on relationships and what not. You can see it here my other blog. Haha, that blog normally has the same stuff.. give or take. But I decided not to post this post on this blog because it's just way too long and the tone is different than a lot of what I've been posting here recently. bleh. enjoy!

This has been quite an interesting week. I've learned quite a number of new things, some of which I will share, others unfortunately for you, will have to stay a mystery.

Among my new knowledge is a set of English slang vocabulary words (thank Ali and Jesal):

1. Rough-ugly (I suppose its not hiding the beauty within according to them)
2. Fit- hot (although I'm pretty sure if you look up fit in the dictionary or ask anyone else, it has a different meaning)
3. Sleezy- flirting by means to get into her (or his) pants. (almost slutty)
4. Maccys (Mac-ies)- McDonald's.

"All the girls are taken! There's no one that's single!"

The boys keep saying that...but this semester there's so many more hookups than there were last semester! Actually, there were any last semester. LOL Besides, long distance relationships are hard, so many people broke up last semester and people already have this semester.

American's are abrasive. Speech wise. Apparently, we make quite a number of people cringe, inwardly thinking "please, just shut up".

We are too in your face, too excited to the point of being excessively loud when the person we're speaking to is right in front of you.

From Nemani and Kareen I learned:

McDonald's = Happiness. Although they differ on the taste of the food (one says it's delicious and other that it tastes horrible. edit: Jesal says "the quality of food in LG5 and McDonald's is comparable! Therefore, consumers like me and you have no way to differentiate products as they are both crap!"), both agree that 1. it's bad for you and 2. McDonald's makes them happy.

I thought about what they were saying and I realized, there must be a lot of people out there who think the same. McDonald's makes them happy. Can you imagine what kind of effort and how much money it must of cost McDonald's to create this type of image in everyone's head. In Hong Kong, I've seen plastic toy versions of McDonald's food. What kind of parent would buy that for their kids? But apparently they do.

Everyone knows McDonald's is bad for you, especially after Super Size Me came out, but everyone still eats it. Tonight alone, Ali, Haakon, Luong, and Jesal had it for dinner, and I'm pretty sure Nemani had some too. I'm not sure how McDonald's did it, but I'm pretty damn sure I think that companies out there should study the McDonald's history in advertisement and the company's past and present method for creating such a perception.

LOL. Harley thinks I should write a book on relationships. I doubt I have the experience for that but that could be an interesting post...what my thoughts are.....

So we went to 10000 Buddhas in Sha Ting. It was awesome! Here's some pics!

Yesterday, I was reading Alan's xanga and he had written something that totally mirrored my thoughts at some time during the past couple months. He wrote,

"I think the more I live my life, the more the concept of a "best friend" become foreign to me. I know people always talk about their "best friends", the people they can't live without, the people who they talk to all the time. The people who they tell everything to, the people they can trust about anything...

When I think of the best friend, or even good friend, they're people that know you, but not only do they know a lot about you, but they want to know more about you. They're people who you can hang out with and feel comfortable around. They're people who when you're gone, they'll miss you. They say actions are more powerful than words and I think that's true. Except in the case of nothing, both are more powerful and more meaningful.

...I'm pretty sure I can count the number of times people have sent me messages or talked to me or anything to that extent on my fingers and toes. Everyone else? Everyone at home that I've talked to since I've been here as been contacted by me. Me. Me. Me. Maybe I'm just over thinking things, but to me that seems like a very one sided relationship."

I had written back to him,

"People come and go, thats given...but take pleasure in the people who have stayed in contact with you. They are the ones to remember, the relationships to nurture. Relationships of any sort are a two way street. You tried and that's the best you can do. If they decide not to put the effort into building and keeping the relationship, it's their loss. [Alan] You are a great guy, focus on those who keep in contact, even if they annoy you. Let the others come and go and just flow with it. You can always forgive and forgive...or just forgive but don't forget who's who in the scheme of things."

And when I think about it, although what I might have written may not apply to others, it does apply to me. I want to thank Alan for writing a wonderful post, which can be found here at his Xanga.
